OUR STORY
About Walker’s Logs
The Walkers story started in 1970 when my father, Sandy Walker started selling wood-burning stoves in his shop in Burford, Oxfordshire. It was a turbulent time in Great Britain, with coal miners strikes effecting the domestic energy supply and the introduction of the three day working week. With households looking for increased energy security, and an abundance of wood from Dutch Elm Disease the wood-burning stove was an ideal solution.

Throughout my childhood I remember my father saying how critical it was to use good dry wood, and that over 90% of issues with stoves and chimneys arose from people burning poor quality fuel. So, in 2005 I set up Walker’s Logs, with an aim to produce reliable top quality firewood and kindling throughout the Cotswolds. We have perfected the art of kiln drying our logs and kindling to a very low moisture content, which makes lighting your fire much easier, and improves the efficiency and heat output into your home.
We now process around 13,000 tonnes of quality British hardwood each year, supplying thousands of homes and businesses across the UK.
We are very much a small family business who are passionate about providing the very best quality and service possible. With a fantastic team of around 15 members of staff, we are responsible for the whole process. From sourcing the best quality trees, through production, packaging and delivery.
